The Leader Leads and the Follower Follows

Because obviously the Leader has to Lead if the Follower is to Follow and the Follower wouldn't know where to go if the Leader wasn't Leading what they have to Follow.

The onus is thus firmly placed on the Follower who in turn stands practically no chance of being in the position and location the Leader is expecting. This is what actually has to happen and it works each and every time.

It’s the kind of thing tossed out in beginner classes, teacher certifications, and even high-level seminars.

And it’s not just oversimplified β€” it’s physically impossible.

We’re not being snarky β€” physics and math back us up.

So why hasn't it changed? Simple; money. Studios and instructors can make more money by telling struggling students to "work on their 'technique'", or "just keep practicing". If they taught is correctly there wouldn't be a constant money stream from exasperated dancers.

The maxim is often Why train and improve when people keep paying you for what they get?
