The term Body Rise is Just Plain Confusing (and wrong)

Where oh where did this one come from and why has it remained for so long? (that's another story).

There are only two forms of rise (and fall):

  • Foot Rise
  • Leg Rise.

Either of these can result in the hips changing elevation (rising and falling) and everything above the hips has to come along.

To call this 'Body Rise' is crazy; why not call it:

  • Nose Rise (because the nose is rising)
  • Chest Rise?
  • Abdomen Rise?

It's even worse as far, far too many books claim that "the body can stretch" which is true if you aren't standing straight in the first place.
